IPTV on Android phones and tablets: setup in five minutes

An Android phone or tablet is the quickest way to try ZELVIX IPTV, and a handy second screen when the TV is taken. The players are in Google Play, accept your Xtream login and support casting to a TV. This guide covers phones and tablets from Samsung, Xiaomi, Google, OnePlus, Oppo, Motorola and any other brand running Android 8 or later.

Last reviewed: October 2026

Before you start

  • Your ZELVIX IPTV Xtream login or M3U link.
  • A Google account signed in on the device for Google Play.
  • Android 8 or later; most phones and tablets from 2018 onwards.
  • Wi-Fi for long sessions. Live TV uses roughly 2 to 4 GB per hour in Full HD on mobile data.

Which player app to use

The players below are built for touch screens. TiviMate, popular on televisions, is not designed for phones and is not listed here.

IPTV Smarters Pro

Free Android 5+

The most familiar interface: Xtream login, live TV, films and series, parental lock and multi-screen. Google Play availability varies by country; where it is missing, install Smarters Player Lite or one of the two players below.

XCIPTV

Free, with ads Android 5+

A fast player with Xtream and M3U support, a modern guide view and built-in casting. Ads are shown in the free version.

Televizo

Free, optional in-app purchase Android 5+

Lightweight, excellent on tablets, with a clear EPG and picture-in-picture. Works with Xtream login and M3U links.

Install IPTV Smarters Pro and sign in

Smarters is the player most customers already know, and its login screen takes your Xtream details directly. If it is not available in Google Play in your country, follow the same steps in XCIPTV or Televizo.

  1. Install from Google PlayOpen Google Play, search for “IPTV Smarters Pro” and install the app by the original developer. If several similar apps appear, check the developer name and the number of downloads before installing.
  2. Choose Xtream loginOpen the app, accept the terms, and tap Add New User. Choose Login with Xtream Codes API. Login with M3U URL is also available if you only have a link.
  3. Enter your detailsType any profile name, then the username, password and server address we sent you, exactly as written and including http:// and the port. Tap Add User.
  4. Let the content loadThe app downloads channels, films, series and the programme guide. Keep the phone unlocked for the first minute; the home screen then shows Live TV, Movies, Series and Catch Up where available.
  5. Watch and castOpen Live TV, choose a category and tap a channel. Rotate the phone for full screen, tap the screen for the guide, and use the cast icon to send the picture to a Chromecast or Android TV on the same Wi-Fi.
  6. Enable the parental lockIn Settings choose Parental Control, set a PIN and lock the categories you want restricted. Useful on a tablet shared with children.

Other players that work

XCIPTV

XCIPTV has the same login types and a cleaner guide view.

  1. Install XCIPTV from Google Play and open it.
  2. Choose Xtream Codes API, enter a name, the server address, your username and password, and tap Login. Or choose M3U and paste your link.
  3. Wait for the lists to download. Swipe between live TV, films, series and the guide.
  4. Tap the cast icon to play on a Chromecast or compatible TV.

Televizo

Televizo is very light and well suited to tablets.

  1. Install Televizo from Google Play and open it.
  2. Tap the plus sign to add a playlist. Choose Xtream Codes or Playlist URL, enter the details and save.
  3. Open the EPG tab to view the guide; tap a programme to play its channel.
  4. Use picture-in-picture from the player to keep watching while using other apps.

If something does not work

Most first-time problems come from one of a handful of causes. Check these before contacting support, and tell us which step you were on if you still need help.

The app is not in Google Play in my country

Store listings change by country. Install Smarters Player Lite, XCIPTV or Televizo instead; the login steps are identical. Do not install players from unknown websites on your phone.

Login works but channels take a long time to start

Switch from mobile data to Wi-Fi. If it only happens on cellular, your operator may be shaping video. On Wi-Fi, move closer to the router or switch to the 5 GHz network.

The video plays with no sound, or the sound is out of sync

In the player settings change the decoder (hardware to software or vice versa) or select a different player engine. This is a device chipset issue, not a service problem.

Casting shows a black screen on the TV

Make sure the phone and the Chromecast are on the same Wi-Fi network. If casting stays unreliable, install a player directly on the TV or stick; see our Android TV and Fire TV guides.

Questions about this device

Does watching on my phone count as a device?

Each screen playing at the same time counts as one connection in your plan. You can install the player on your phone, tablet and TV; the plan decides how many can play simultaneously.

How much mobile data does IPTV use?

Roughly 2 to 4 GB per hour in Full HD and 1 to 2 GB per hour in standard quality. For long sessions on mobile data, lower the stream quality in the app if the option exists, or use Wi-Fi.

Can I use a Bluetooth game controller or a TV box remote with these apps?

Yes, the players accept standard Android input devices, but the layouts are designed for touch. On a television, our Android TV guide recommends players made for remotes.

Will the player keep playing in the background or in a small window?

XCIPTV and Televizo support picture-in-picture on Android 8 and later. Audio-only background playback depends on the app and is not available in all of them.

Is the Android version the same as the TV version?

Smarters and XCIPTV share one app for phones and televisions, so the login steps are identical. TiviMate exists only for televisions.
