How to install IPTV on a Samsung or LG smart TV
Samsung and LG TVs cannot install Android apps, but their own stores carry several IPTV players. This guide shows the two-part method they all share: install the app on the TV, then send your playlist to it from a phone or computer.
Last reviewed: October 2026
Before you start
- Your ZELVIX IPTV M3U link (ask support if you only received a username and password; we can send the link form).
- Your TV’s MAC address or app ID, shown on the player’s first screen.
- A phone or computer on the same internet connection to upload the playlist.
- A Samsung TV from 2016 or later (Tizen) or an LG TV running webOS 3.0 or later. Older models can still use Net IPTV; see below.
Which player app to use
These players are available in the Samsung and LG stores in most European countries. Availability changes by country and model year, so if one is missing from your store, use the next one.
Smart IPTV (SIPTV)
The most widely used TV player. Free for 7 days, then a one-time activation per TV through the developer’s website. The Samsung store version needs a 2022 or newer TV; older Samsung models use the developer’s USB installation.
Net IPTV
A good choice for older Samsung and LG TVs that Smart IPTV no longer supports. Same two-part method: install, read the MAC address, upload the playlist on the developer’s website.
IBO Player
Shows a Device ID and Device Key instead of a MAC address. Supports several playlists at once, which is handy if you manage more than one subscription. Price is set by the developer; check its site before paying.
Install Smart IPTV and load your playlist
Smart IPTV is the player we recommend first on recent Samsung and LG TVs because it starts fast, handles the programme guide well and is activated once per TV. The steps below use the TV remote and then a phone or computer.
- Open the TV’s app storeOn Samsung press Home and open Apps; on LG press Home and open the LG Content Store. Search for “Smart IPTV” and install it. The icon shows a white play symbol on a blue square.
- Launch the app and note the addressOpen Smart IPTV. The first screen shows a MAC address (Samsung and older LG) or an ID of letters and digits (LG from webOS 2024 onwards). Write it down exactly; this is how the app recognises your TV.
- Open the developer’s playlist pageOn a phone or computer, go to the Smart IPTV website and open the “My List” page. If the site does not load from your home connection, use mobile data or ask our support to upload the playlist for you.
- Enter the address and the playlist linkType the MAC address or ID from your TV, paste your ZELVIX IPTV M3U link in the URL field, keep “Keep online” unticked and tick “Save online” so the list is stored. Confirm you are not a robot and send the form.
- Restart the app on the TVClose Smart IPTV completely and open it again. Your channel list appears within a few seconds, grouped by category. Press OK on a channel to start playing and press the blue button to open the programme guide.
- Activate after the trialAfter 7 days the app asks for a one-time activation. Pay it on the developer’s activation page with the same MAC address; the app unlocks without reinstalling. The fee goes to the app developer, not to ZELVIX IPTV.
Other players that work
Net IPTV on an older Samsung or LG
Net IPTV follows the same pattern and still lists Samsung TVs from 2016 to 2020 and LG TVs on webOS 1 to 5.
- Install Net IPTV from the TV’s store and open it; the screen shows the MAC address.
- On a phone or computer open the Net IPTV upload page, enter the MAC address and paste your M3U link, then submit.
- Back on the TV, press 0 on the remote to reload the list, or close and reopen the app.
- After the trial period, pay the one-time activation on the developer’s site with the same MAC address.
IBO Player
IBO Player identifies the TV by a Device ID and a Device Key rather than a MAC address.
- Install IBO Player from the store and open it; note the Device ID and Device Key shown on screen.
- On the developer’s website open the device management page, sign in with the ID and key, and choose Add Playlist.
- Give the playlist a name, paste your M3U link or enter your Xtream login details, and save.
- Return to the TV, reopen the app and choose the playlist you created.
If something does not work
Most first-time problems come from one of a handful of causes. Check these before contacting support, and tell us which step you were on if you still need help.
The channel list does not appear after uploading
Check that the MAC address you typed matches the TV exactly, including the letter O versus the digit 0. Then close the app fully (not just back to the home screen) and reopen it. If the website refused the link, send it to our support and we will check it.
The store does not show the app in my country
Store catalogues differ by country and by TV model year. Try the next app in the list above. Changing the TV’s region setting is not something we recommend, because it also changes the store, updates and some TV features.
Channels load but stop every few seconds
This is almost always the connection, not the app. Connect the TV by Ethernet cable or move to 5 GHz Wi-Fi, restart the router and make sure nothing else is downloading on the same network. Full HD needs a steady 8 to 12 Mbps.
The app asks to pay after one week
This is the developer’s one-time activation, normal for Smart IPTV and Net IPTV. Pay it once per TV on the developer’s site using the same MAC address. If you prefer a free player, use the Android-based route described in the Android TV guide with an external stick.
Questions about this device
Does IPTV work on every Samsung or LG TV?
Any Samsung TV running Tizen (2016 onwards) and any LG TV running webOS 3.0 or later can run at least one of the players above. Older sets can be used with an inexpensive Android TV or Fire TV stick plugged into an HDMI port.
Why do I have to use a website to add the playlist?
Typing a long link with a TV remote is slow and error-prone, so these players read the playlist from the developer’s server, where you upload it once from a phone or computer. The TV is identified by its MAC address or app ID.
Can I see the programme guide (EPG) on my TV?
Yes. Smart IPTV, Net IPTV and IBO Player all display a programme guide when the playlist includes guide data. Your ZELVIX IPTV access includes it; if a channel shows no information, tell support the channel name.
Will I lose the app if the TV updates?
Apps installed from the store survive TV updates. The exception is Samsung’s USB-installed version on some older J-series models; disable automatic app updates on those TVs or reinstall from USB after an update.
Is the activation fee paid to ZELVIX IPTV?
No. The one-time fee is charged by the app developer and goes entirely to them. Our subscription price covers only the service itself, and you may use any compatible player you prefer.
