IPTV on MAG, Formuler and Enigma2 boxes: portal and playlist setup
Dedicated set-top boxes give the most television-like experience and are popular with people who want a simple remote and nothing else on the screen. They connect differently from TVs and sticks: MAG boxes use a portal address tied to the box’s own hardware address, Formuler boxes use their built-in MYTVOnline portal app, and Enigma2 satellite receivers take a playlist or Xtream login through a plugin. Before you start
- The exact model of your box, for example MAG 524, Formuler Z11 Pro Max or a specific Enigma2 receiver.
- For MAG: the box’s MAC address, printed on the sticker underneath and shown in the box’s settings. We need it to activate your portal access.
- For Formuler: the MYTVOnline portal details or the Xtream login we send you.
- For Enigma2: your M3U link or Xtream login and a receiver with an active internet connection and a current image.
Which player app to use
Unlike TVs and sticks, these boxes use their own built-in software. Where a separate player is involved it is named below.
Stalker portal (built in)
The box’s own interface. You enter a portal address once; the box signs in with its MAC address, so there is no username to type. Our support activates the MAC address on our side before you connect.
MYTVOnline 2 / 3 (built in)
Formuler’s own portal and playlist app, with a fast guide and catch-up where the service provides it. Accepts a portal address, an M3U link or Xtream details, and the box also runs Android TV players from Google Play.
XtreamTV or IPTV plugins
Enigma2 receivers load IPTV as bouquets through a plugin or a one-line installation script, after which the channels sit beside your satellite channels with EPG. The exact plugin depends on the image; we send instructions for yours.
Set up a MAG box with the portal address
On a MAG box there is no app to install. You tell the box where the portal is, and the box identifies itself with its MAC address. Make sure we have activated that address first, otherwise the box will show a loading screen or an authorisation error.
- Send us the MAC addressFind the MAC address on the sticker under the box (it starts with 00:1A:79 on genuine MAG boxes) or in Settings, System information. Send it to our support with your order; we link it to your subscription and reply with the portal address.
- Open the system settingsTurn the box on and, while the loading screen is showing, press the Setup or Set button on the remote (on some models it is the Services button). The inner portal with System settings appears.
- Go to Servers, then PortalsChoose Servers and then Portals. You will see Portal 1 name and Portal 1 URL. Give the portal a name such as ZELVIX and enter the portal address exactly as we sent it in the URL field.
- Save and restartPress OK to save, then choose Exit and confirm the restart. The box reboots and connects to the portal.
- Check the connection settings if it does not loadIf the box stays on the loading screen, go back to System settings, Network, and confirm the box has an IP address and that Auto DNS or the DNS 8.8.8.8 is set. Then choose Servers, Portals again and check the address.
- WatchAfter the restart the channel list opens with groups on the left and the guide on the right. Use the TV button to return to live TV at any time, the Info button for the current programme and the coloured buttons for the guide and favourites.
Other players that work
Formuler Z-series with MYTVOnline
Formuler boxes run Android TV and ship with MYTVOnline, a very good portal app that also accepts M3U and Xtream.
- From the Formuler home screen open MYTVOnline 2 or MYTVOnline 3, depending on the model.
- Choose Add Portal or Connections and then Add. Enter a nickname, then either the portal address, or choose Xtream login and enter the server, username and password, or paste your M3U link.
- Select Connect. The channel list and guide load within a minute.

Enigma2 receivers (OpenATV, OpenPLi, OpenViX and similar)
Enigma2 receivers add IPTV channels as bouquets so they sit next to your satellite channels.
- Make sure the receiver is connected to the internet and the image is up to date. Note the receiver’s IP address from the network settings.
- Ask our support for the Enigma2 installation command or plugin for your image. Run it over Telnet or SSH from a computer, or install the plugin from the receiver’s plugin browser.
- Enter your M3U link or your Xtream details when the installer or plugin asks for them.
- Restart the receiver’s interface. The IPTV bouquets appear in the channel list, with EPG when the image supports it.
- Some images need the GStreamer or ServiceApp player installed for smooth playback; the installer usually handles this.
MAG-style boxes from other brands
Many inexpensive boxes copy the MAG interface and take a portal address in the same way.
- Send us the MAC address printed on the box so we can activate it.
- Open the box’s settings, find Servers or Portal, and enter the portal address we send you.
- Restart the box. If it will not connect, tell us the brand and model; some boxes need a different portal format.
If something does not work
Most first-time problems come from one of a handful of causes. Check these before contacting support, and tell us which step you were on if you still need help.
The MAG box stays on the loading screen or shows “Authorization failed”
Either the MAC address is not yet activated on our side, or the portal address has a typing error. Check the address character by character and send us the MAC address again so we can confirm it is linked to your subscription.
The box connects but the channel list is empty
Restart the box once more and wait a full minute. If the list is still empty, your plan may be temporarily out of connections because another device is playing; stop the other device and try again.
Enigma2 shows the channels but they do not play
The image lacks a suitable player for internet streams. Install the ServiceApp or GStreamer player plugin for your image and set it as the default for IPTV services, then restart.
Formuler shows the guide but channels take long to start
Connect the box by Ethernet instead of Wi-Fi and, in MYTVOnline’s settings, try the alternative decoder. Also confirm nothing else on the network is downloading.
Questions about this device
Why does a MAG box need my MAC address?
MAG boxes sign in with their hardware address instead of a username. We register that address on our side, so the box is recognised the moment you enter the portal address. If you change box, send us the new address.
Which format should I ask for with a Formuler?
Any of the three works. Most Formuler owners use the portal address in MYTVOnline for the best guide integration, but Xtream login and M3U are accepted too.
Can I use ZELVIX IPTV on an Enigma2 receiver without a computer?
If your image has an IPTV plugin in its plugin browser, you can enter the details on the receiver itself. The one-line installation command needs a computer or phone with a Telnet or SSH app, and we can guide you through it.
Does the box need its own subscription?
No. One ZELVIX IPTV subscription covers your box and any other device you install a player on; the plan decides how many screens can play at the same time.
Which box do you recommend if I am buying one?
For a dedicated IPTV box, a current Formuler Z-series model offers the best combination of a strong portal app and Android TV flexibility. A Fire TV Stick or Android TV box is a cheaper option that works just as well with a player app.
